National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

Today is National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. AIDS is something that affects everyone. I lost my grandfather and Ms. Hollywood lost her aunt to this pandemic. Everyday more and more women are being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. We have a responsibility to spread the word and educate our youth on protecting themselves and getting tested.

For those who want more info on stats and how you can help in your community check out these websites.

There is a summit for young women of color at St. Francis College in Brooklyn on March 21, 2009. Most likely Ms. Hollywood and I will be volunteering for the event. If you are in the area, stop by. Bring your friends, sisters, cousins, kids, mamas, baby mamas whoever to help spread the word and stop spreading this virus. And Remember - GET TESTED and know that SAFE SEX IS GREAT SEX!!!

Besos,

Ms. SoChic
